Procedures & Fines

The Municipal Court is the judicial branch of City government. The City of Celeste Municipal Court is responsible for processing all citations issued by the Celeste Police Department involving Class C Misdemeanor violations, State statute violations, and City Ordinance violations occurring within the City. The Municipal Court Judge hears cases that come before the court and renders a verdict and/or fine.

  • Please wait at least 48 hours after receiving your citation to contact the court.
  • No personal checks accepted.  Cash, cashier's check, money order, credit card or payment online at www.govrec.com

The City of Celeste court docket is the schedule of the court. Defendants will be expected to adhere to the procedures and protocol of the court at all times, including proper attire.

  • All mobile devices, including phones, must be turned off.
  • Photography and audio recordings are prohibited.
  • No food or drink will be allowed in the court room at any time.

Court is the 1st Thursday of every month at 4:30 p.m.

Your court appearance date is located on the right-hand corner of your citation.  Please wait 48 hours before contacting the court.  Appear before the court on or before the date on the citation.  Telephone calls or emails do not constitute an appearance.  All juvenile offenders 16 & under must appear in open court with a legal parent or guardian.

If you have received a citation(s) from the City of Celeste Municipal Police Department, you must fill out and return a plea form to the court on or before you court date before we can talk to you about your citation(s).

If you fail to appear on or before your court date, you will receive a courtesy notice within (14) days of your missed court date.  If you do not take care of your violation, it will go into collections.  There will be a 30% collection fee along with an additional offense of Violate Promise to Appear or Fail to Appear added to your original citation(s).
